Hi! Remember me? Long time no blog, huh? I’ve been busy–get this–living my life. Whoa. Between weddings, concerts, funerals, moving, busy season at work (and yes, a few workouts, too), there hasn’t been much down time to talk to y’all. I will be back later this week (hopefully) with a new post I’m working on, but for now, here’s what I’ve been up to lately…

My beautiful cousin, Katie, got married. And our family knows how to party. I mean, we group sang/screamed Miley’s Wrecking Ball 🙂
I had a huge work event for which I finally sorta learned how to curl my hair
I got to see my two favorite singers three times in one weekend and my face was sufficiently rocked off
My gorgeous Mama Ruthie came down for her annual visit I drank lots of coffee to stay awake and keep up
And most importantly, this is how all of that makes me feel:
Today was the day I reconnected with something that used to be such a huge part of my life. Something I’ve missed terribly. Today was the day I did something I haven’t done since I was maybe 12 years old. No, I did not bleach my blonde locks with Sun-In. Or crush on Jim Smith…but, true story. Call me, Jim.
No, today I went to a public beach in a swimsuit. A swimsuit that showed my cellulite-ridden thighs. And then I shared a few laughs with a friend, worked on my tan, listened to some good tunes, ate lunch, and splashed in the water…all while wearing my swimsuit.
And it was glorious. I teared up while laying alone on the beach, waiting for my friend. I was so proud of myself. My confidence, while it wavered a few, small moments, was sky high. And after tackling the beach today (one of my biggest fears), I made plans to go back tomorrow to do some paddle boarding. Looks like I’m going to be a beach babe once again! 🙂
Summer Bucket List
1. Run 2 miles
2. Attempt to water ski
3. Put myself out there physically
4. Complete a bike race
5. Go hiking in a state park
6. Lose 20 pounds
7. Purchase a pair of pants from a “normal” size store

I found some of my own greatness this weekend: I spent the weekend with my family, helping my grandparents with landscaping at their house. This meant hauling, shoveling, shaking clean, and raking tons and tons of rocks…and then going inside to enjoy some of my Grandma’s most delicious cooking. I made smart choices, though, preparing and eating mostly my own healthy food, and squeezing in a run with my cousin while everyone else took a beer break. Victory!
Ignore the bad cell phone pics, focus on a few of the numbers I experienced during this exhausting, exhilarating, healthy, progress-filled weekend!
16…size of the (very) generously cut linen dress I shimmied into just to see if I could. Almost…at least I didn’t get stuck! 11…ring size I used to wear. 9…ring size I slipped on this weekend. 2…recipes I put together this weekend: chocolate chunk brownies with greek yogurt and apple turkey burgers. 14…percentage of body weight I’ve lost since January.
9…hours of sleep I got both Friday and Saturday night. Glorious. 4…items of clothing I tried on but had to put back because they were too big. I’m officially down two sizes! 2…books I finished.
1…both the number of yoga classes I took this weekend and the number of goals I crossed of the list for for July. 4…workouts I killed. And, best for last…
4…pounds I’ve lost since Friday!

I love weekends like this: beautiful weather, nothing and everything to do, fulfilling several Pinterest crafts, experimenting in the kitchen, farmer’s marketing, spending quality time with good friends, gardening, and workin’ on my fitness.
